Who is The Holy Spirit?

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26).

The Holy Spirit is sent from The Father who is the source of all things. He is not only the spirit of God but a person in his own capacity. As can be seen in the verse above, He was sent in the name of Jesus, The Word in flesh. He therefore responds only to the name of Jesus and The Word of God. Again, He is the carrier of the presence of God. In The Old Testament therefore, he manifested principally as the angel of his presence:

“In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled, and vexed his Holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them” (Isaiah 63:9-10, KJV).

In Exodus 23:21, God said his name is in him.

Hebrews 12: 9 says, “Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?” Fatherhood speaks of source. Every spirit takes its source from The Father. According to the Bible, there is only one God, and never three spirits. The Holy Spirit is God and Jesus is also God but they are all called The Father. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God and of Jesus Christ. God is The Father of all spirits.

Moreover, the Holy Spirit is the genetic coding in the Godhead and is therefore the means by which the nature and life of God is transmitted to us when we get born again. He is the life of the Father, transmitted through the Son and then to us. John 5:26 says “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;” He is the life we receive at new birth and the proof of the fact that we are born of God: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life” (John 6:47). He is therefore the divine link between the father and the Son and between the Son and the Church. Whatever does not have The Spirit cannot be a part of God. Whatever has the in-dwelling of The Spirit, on the other hand, is part of God and is indeed, god. By virtue of this, the Godhead is not only made of the Father, Son (The Word) and the Holy Spirit but us also.

The Godhead can simply be explained as the vine. The roots which are unseen is the Father, the stem is the Word-Son also called Jesus Christ. The life sap of the vine which is the life transmission in the tree is the Holy Spirit and the branches and the fruits are the children of God also called the Sons of theKingdom. We are able to participate in the Godhead by means of the Holy Spirit and it is by him that that we are able to show awesome works of power. Jesus told the disciples “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…” We heal the sick, raise the dead and perform other supernatural feats as believers by means of the Holy Ghost.

More importantly however, the Holy Ghost is given to us to fashion a perfect man out of us. The graciousness of the Holy Ghost is to teach us to reach the level of maturity. When a man is born again, he receives in his spirit eternal life. This eternal life is the very life of Jehovah which is given to him as a seed by means of the Holy Ghost. It is the responsibility of that man by the leading of the Holy Ghost to mature that life to its fullest capacity. The full capacity of that life would have been attained when that man reaches the level of perfection and the major purpose of the Holy Ghost is to bring us to that level.

Ephesians 4:13 says “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:”

The dream of The Father for all men in this age is that they will reach the “measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” The one who reaches this level is the one who has attained the level of a son in God and is therefore eligible to receive of God, his inheritance. Galatians 4:1-2 says “Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.”

It is by the governance of the Holy Spirit that we reach our full capacity as heirs of an inheritance in God. To attain full capacity as an heir is to have attained the level of a perfect man.

I truly appreciate your insight about the word of God. Well, you’ve been one of a kind.
Apparently it seems the issue about the Godhead is one of the most sensitive topics of the Christian doctrines. Pastor Benny Hinn once said in his book (welcome Holy Spirit) that without acknowledging the Holy Spirit as a person one cannot experience Him. So if Benny is true that means that those who doesn’t believe in the trinity does not have the Holy Spirit?
I quoted a portion of your article in the beginning saying that the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ and God are all called the Father. And yet God is the Father of all.
So I want to ask from the explanation above (according to my knowledge )is there something or is something there that really differentiate between The three?

I believe my comment shall be given the necessary attention. Thank you.
